Place our magnet on your car every day of a month and get $30-50 plus two free 30-minute tutoring sessions per month at a public location in Pleasant Hill.┬áSend your name, contact information, year/make/model of your car, the number of hours you drive and routes you use each week, and we’ll get back to you if your car is a fit for our program.

b. Lawn Sign Program
Place our lawn sign (15″ H x19″ W) on your lawn and get $30-50 plus two free 30-minute tutoring sessions per month at a public location in Pleasant Hill. Send your name, contact information, full address, and we’ll contact you if you’re a fit for our program.

2. Tutoring

a. Math, Physics, Chemistry Tutors
The primary role of the tutor is to help students complete their homework assignments. Tutors may be asked to tutor in group or individual format. Tutors are responsible for tracking students’ progress on quizzes and tests and making adjustments in the content of the lesson or assigning additional work. Tutors may be given other assignments related to education services if student flow is light or students don’t show for scheduled sessions. Tutors are responsible for recording the hours worked.

The preferred skills and characteristics for this position are:

-Ability to modify personal and teaching style

-Degree in subject/content area
-1 year of tutoring or teaching experience K-12
-1 year of experience using Ti-83+ or higher

b. SAT Specialist (Reading/Language Arts)
The primary role of the SAT Specialist (RLA)) is to help student improve their SAT scores. Tutors will be asked to tutor in group or individual format and team with Math Specialists. Tutors are responsible for tracking students’ progress. Tutors are responsible for recording the hours worked.

-2 years of teaching RLA content, testing strategies, etc.

3. Business Administration

a. Assistant to the Director of Operations
The primary role of the Assistant is to assist the Director of Operations in running a seasonal center. The Assistant will learn how to operate a tutoring center, develop an automation plan and provide written documentation of the automation plan.

b. Marketing Assistant
The Marketing Assistant is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and automating a marketing, promotions, and advertising campaign. The marketing assistant works closely with the Director of Operations.

The preferred skills and characteristics for this position are:
-Ability to adhere to the mission of My Neighborhood Tutor
-Strong writing, speaking, and technology skills (e-mail, phone, text)
-Able to primarily communicate by e-mail
-Knowledge of marketing basics
-Knowledge of education services and public interest in such services
-Uses PC-based software for developing flyers
-Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and postcard/brochure programs
-1 year of general work experience
-College degree (or currently enrolled)
